Shant J. Apekian brings more than 20 years of experience in California policy and government affairs, with a proven track record of navigating the state’s complex political landscape to deliver meaningful results on the most challenging issues.

Over the course of his career, Shant has developed strong expertise in the legislative process and strong bipartisan relationships with lawmakers, staff, and administration officials – proving to be inviable to his clients. 

Today, Shant advises a diverse portfolio of clients, including Fortune 500 companies, trade associations, and nonprofits. His work spans a broad range of issues such as energy, transportation, housing, healthcare, and entertainment.

Shant’s past leadership roles with major organizations underscore his breadth of experience. At the Western States Petroleum Association, he spearheaded advocacy and political strategies on climate change, renewable energy, transition, and labor policy. At the California Apartment Association, he worked extensively on housing policy on behalf of national real estate investment trusts, developers, and landlords.

He began his career as a legislative staffer in the State Capitol and on political campaigns, grounding his advocacy work in firsthand knowledge of California’s political institutions. Shant earned dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Political Science and Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California.
